The Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is a flagship initiative by the Government of India aimed at empowering youth from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This scheme provides financial assistance to meritorious students for pursuing undergraduate studies outside their home state/UT.

PMSSS opens doors to quality education and diverse career opportunities, fostering integration and promoting educational and economic development in the region.

Benefits

Academic fee coverage up to ₹3 Lakh per annum
Maintenance allowance of ₹1 Lakh per annum
One-time settlement allowance of ₹20,000
Access to top institutions across India

Eligibility

The PMSSS is open to students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh who have:

Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from J&K and Ladakh board or CBSE affiliated schools in these regions
Family income less than ₹8 Lakh per annum
Not availed any other scholarship scheme
